Sytner Group Charity Support

10 November 2023

At Sytner Group we are proud to continue our support for various charitable causes as giving back to our communities is a priority for us. Therefore, it is important to us that we also celebrate and support our colleagues in their efforts in doing so.

Across our business we have many different colleagues who take part in fund raising activities, local community initiatives or volunteer work in their own time. Some fantastic examples of this are our colleagues Kuldip, Chris and Lesley & Sue. Below are some examples of how these colleagues have got involved in causes that are important to them.

Chris is one of our coaches who has volunteered with South Central Ambulance Charity for a while now. He was recently joined by fellow volunteer Community First Responders from South Central Ambulance Charity to teach over 200 local school children CPR!

Volunteers are key in making sure South Central Ambulance Charity are able to provide additional support to the ambulance crews, fundraise for innovative new projects, provide equipment from donations and work alongside our operational teams to really enhance the patient care South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) is able to provide.

This is why the volunteer work Chris does is so significant!

Recently our colleagues Lesley and Sue took part in the ‘Shine Night 10k Walk’ in Leicester in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK, a cause close to Lesley’s heart.

Lesley was diagnosed in 2022 with breast cancer and took on the walk almost a year to the day of beginning her treatment. With the fantastic news that Lesley now has the all clear, Lesley and Sue set out to raise £500 through their JustGiving page and have to date raised a huge £1,600!

Lesley said “The atmosphere was electric and we really enjoyed it. On behalf of Sue and I we would like to say a very BIG THANK YOU for your kind donations towards our amazing total, what a fantastic achievement!”

Kuldip is one of our colleagues in our BMW Contact centre. Kuldip has been volunteering as a Community First Responder for East Midlands Ambulance Service, responding to 999 calls in the local community for the last 3 years.

These calls can vary from life threatening circumstances to more minor accidents and also being immediately available should the call be within his immediate location.

Volunteers are always needed and are an invaluable asset to the team as the East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides emergency medical services, urgent care and patient transport services for the 4.8 million people within the East Midlands region of the UK.

This demonstrates how Kuldip’s volunteer work holds huge value and plays an important part of East Midlands Ambulance Service

At Sytner Group our ‘One Team’ culture goes beyond getting the day to day job done; it means that we also fully encourage our businesses to engage with local schools, get involved in the local communities and arranging our own charity fundraising commitments. As part of this ethos our colleagues received one day a year paid to take part in voluntary/community work.

We are very proud to continue to support our colleagues in getting involved and actively engaging in charity events and volunteer work.
