International Women's Day 2024 - Penny Wallace

This Friday, 8^th March we celebrate International Women’s Day and have spoken with several of our female colleagues throughout the business to find out more about them and what drives them in business!

Today we speak to Penny about her journey in her career and what motivates her to thrive in her role;

Career path: I started out as a HR Apprentice at E.ON and really enjoyed the recruitment and learning and development side of HR so I took an opportunity in the external recruitment world.

I always wanted to work internally for a business whose values aligned with my own so after 2.5 years in external recruitment I joined Sytner as a Recruitment Specialist in January 2021 and was promoted to Central Recruitment Manager in April 2022! 

What drives you?

Two things…People. I want to know that the work I’m doing makes a difference in someone’s life and that I’m supporting them with their own goals.

Second I want to be successful in what I do and I want the business to be successful in our aims. Part of success to me is leaving at the end of the day feeling a sense of accomplishment and that I am contributing to the wider strategy.
