Today hear from Jordan to find out more about her experiences as a female in the motor industry;

Name: Jordan Smith

Job Title: Corporate HUB Team Leader – BMW/MINI Division

Dealership or Head Office: Central Corporate HUB

Career path: I joined Sytner in the BMW/MINI division almost 6 years ago now as I started my career as BMW Genius/Product Specialist in August 2018 without any initial automotive experience; just a passion for cars and desire to work in the motor industry. After 1 year as a Genius; I became a New Car Sales Executive at BMW. I then moved into the BMW/MINI Corporate HUB in 2020 and 6 months ago in August 2023; I was promoted to Corporate HUB Team Leader.

What drives you?

Being a woman is one of my main motivations to succeed in this industry particularly and throughout my career as I am determined to break through glass ceilings and overcome stereotypes, especially within a male dominated industry. Other women within this industry, especially those already in senior positions; inspire me to continue driving my career forward and to encourage self-belief to progress further within my career and to grow both professionally and personally.

What are you experiences?

I have been very fortunate to have been surrounded by strong and resilient women throughout my career, which has helped me to overcome any stereotypical or negative comments so far.
