International Women's Day 2024 - Libby Biwott

We put diversity and inclusivity at the core of everything we do in Sytner Group. It’s for that reason we are continuing our annual celebration of International Women’s Day today.

As part of this we spoke to our female colleagues to find out more about their experiences in their career and what drives them to succeed. Hear from Libby below;

Career path:  

I started off working in the cosmetics industry, and had multiple roles including events co-ordinator, people services advisor, and D&I representative. Across all of these roles I always found myself putting people first and ensuring everyone could feel comfortable and happy in all spaces. This also informed my education, while studying for my bachelor and master’s degree I focused on ethnic identity, and inclusion. It became very clear that although I had chosen to study marketing, D&I was the field that kept pulling me in and where I always hope to make positive change. I joined Sytner Group in the summer of last year and seeing the continued change being made shows me that D&I was the best choice I could have made.

What drives you?

Creating spaces where people can exist safely is huge for me and getting to see people thrive in them is one of my favourite things. Knowing that I can be a place of support or knowledge for people is a huge driver for me, and I’m an advocate of there always being a way forward, all it takes is listening, learning and hope.
