West London Audi Host Harlequins & Partners - Diversity and Inclusion In Business & Sport
18 July 2024
At Sytner Group we are passionate about diversity and inclusivity and champion this across all areas of our business and the communities we’re based in.
Last week, West London Audi hosted a diversity and inclusivity event alongside Harlequins & Partners.
We’ve been partnered with Harlequins since 2022 and support the club in its ambition to positively influence the rugby community.
The event celebrated the importance of diversity and inclusivity in business and sport. This included recognising the positive impact our partnership has had in both organisations individually, as well as together as part of our partnership. The event also afforded us the opportunity to network and discuss our collaboration and methods in which we can elevate our respective work for the future.
We were joined by several guest speakers at the event comprising of colleagues from Harlequins and representatives from their business partners as below;
- James Swanson: Harlequins Diversity & Inclusion Practitioner
- Henry Cox: Harlequins Head of Supporter Engagement
- Jade Mullen: Harlequins Women
- Lucy Elliot: Harlequins People Director
- Sheetal Visana: Talent Advisor – DHL
- Jodie Williams: Head of Diversity & Inclusivity – Sytner Group
- Erin Eckhouse: Head of HR UK – Charles Stanley
The discussion contained topics such as how Harlequins are striving to be an inclusive club for all on and off the pitch including how they engage with supporters, staff and players to drive inclusivity and diversity within their culture. Also, what we can all learn from one another by discussing Harlequins and their business partners individual practices and business examples, aiming to inspire one another to actively promote the power of intentional inclusivity and purpose driven diversity.
We spoke to Jodie Williams, Head of Diversity & Inclusivity at Sytner Group who said;
“It was really great to hear more about what Harlequins are doing around inclusion and the importance of representation, partnership and inclusion in sport. Hearing about all of the work happening was so inspiring, and coming together to discuss how we can all work together to improve inclusion across all sectors.
I am so proud of our West London Audi dealership for hosting such an amazing event, and inspired by everyone who came down and shared their insights, thoughts and ideas”
At Sytner Group we recognise the importance of driving inclusivity and actively promoting wider diversity. We are committed to creating equitable environments where everyone is supported to be their best self. Our aim is to reflect our customers and communities we serve. We aim to be a business which upholds, shares and sets best practice within the sector and outside of it and our ongoing partnership with Harlequins is a fantastic example of that.
Thank you to West London Audi, Harlequins and all of the speakers and attendees for participating in this exciting event.
