Sytner Group Celebrates Leicester Pride 2024

06 September 2024

Sytner Group has supported Leicester Pride for several years and this year was no different!

Leicester is home to our Head Office, several dealerships of various brands, and also many of our colleagues.

The day was a fantastic celebration of belonging, acceptance and unity! It saw many of our colleagues attend with their friends and family, joining the march through the city in a sea of colour and also manning our stand in Abbey Park, the end location of the march.

On the stand, we treated those attending to face painting, opportunity to use the 360° camera platform, a number of branded goodies as well as hosting a competition – guess how many balloons are in the Audi, with the winner receiving an iPad!

We also showcased some of prestige cars we have on offer, with several cars lined up to take a look at, representing a number of our luxurious brands!

As part of the day we were also raising money for local charity, Trade.

Trade is a Leicester based charity that has been working in the community since the 1980’s to support the heath needs of the wider LGBTQ+ community. Trade offer a variety of services from emotional and practical support around sexuality, gender, relationships along with support groups, outreach services and a fully qualified counselling service.

Libby Biwott, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator at Sytner Group said;

“Leicester Pride is always a wonderful event to be part of, I am so proud of the team that helped us bring everything together on Saturday. I love being in a space where people can feel comfortable and free to be themselves and Leicester Pride is definitely the place for that! I also want to thank all of our Sytner Group Colleagues for giving up their time to show our ongoing commitment to embracing D&I!“

Sytner Group has created a range of different initiatives for colleagues to feel seen and heard at work including our network groups, where colleagues can get together on a monthly basis and discuss important issues and ideas in the workplace.

We therefore had opportunity at the event on our stand speak with attendees & provide them the chance to learn more about our business, career opportunities, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Emily Weaver, Recruitment Coordinator at Sytner Group said;

This was my second year representing Sytner at Leicester Pride and the atmosphere was fantastic as always, it was an incredible day and one I always enjoy being a part of! It’s such a great opportunity to come together to demonstrate unwavering support for our colleagues, friends, and customers.”

Diversity and inclusion is key to our business success which is reflected in our values. We are committed to ensure this is embedded in everything we do, from recruitment, training and our customer journey.

We are proud to develop colleagues’ understanding and environments so that all members of the team can thrive and contribute their best selves to work.
